Last week the Series visited Lee Speedway for their last Day Night Doubleheader of the Season.
Race number 1 had the #13 Dave Melson of Stayner ON out duel the #32 Bill Kring of Portage, MI by ,059 to win the pole position. The race had 3 cautions for 15 laps having 9 lead changes among 4 drivers. At the finish, the #58 Fred Hill of North Brunswick joined the podium with a third place, Bill Kring finished second to race winner Dave Melson. Race number 2, Dave Melson started shotgun on the field drawing the last starting position. The race had 4 cautions for 20 laps having 10 lead changes among 5 drivers. Once again Dave drove it like he stole it (rumor has it, he did) and came from the back to sweep the doubleheader event. The podium after the second race mirrored race number 1 with Bill Kring and Fred Hill finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively.
Week 12 the Series visits the Oswego Speedway (nicknamed “The Steel Palace”) a 5/8 mile oval race track in Oswego New York. It was built in 1951 and today is an asphalt race track. The track is the Labor Day Weekend home of the 200-lap, non-wing, big-block supermodified Budweiser Classic and Race of Champions (a tour type modified touring series event). Oswego Speedway also hosts the annual “King of Wings” event for winged supermodifieds. Pit gates open at 8:30 PM EST with qualifying set to go off at 9 PM EST.
