Winchester, NH – Last Sunday the Winston Modified Tour made their way to Monadnock Speedway for their second race of the season. Dave Melson would lead the way in practice setting fast time but closely followed by Ricky LaDuke. The two would flip flop in qualifying with LaDuke besting Melson to grab his first pole of the season with a lap time of 12.012 seconds around the quarter mile track. Melson would then lead the final scuff session followed by Kyle Lawson. The race would get off to a fast start and go green with Ricky LaDuke leading the way. LaDuke would lead the first 42 laps until the second caution came out seeing him spin off the front bumper of Dave Melson. Melson would lead 3 laps under caution and Mitch Bombard would lead 1 lap under caution. This handed the lead over to Kyle Lawson. Last week’s winner would assume the lead on lap 46. It wasn’t until lap 90 he would feel the pressure from Windrow. Heading into turn three, Windrow was able to get a nose under Lawson and drag race back to the line. Windrow would take the lead and never look back. Lawson would be sent spinning off the front bumper of Dave Melson with only six laps to go. The final restart would be a green/checker one lap shootout. Windrow would pull the hole shot with LaDuke following in his tracks. Windrow was able to take the #12 Pomfret Wine & Spirits modified to victory lane once again at Monadnock Speedway! LaDuke was 2nd, followed by Melson, Terry Bombard and Kyle Lawson rounding out the Top 5. Chad Barcomb, Mitch Bombard, Chris Taylor, Rich Warden and Jake Christian would finish out the Top 10! Next week the Winston Modified Tour will be in action at Myrtle Beach Speedway! We hope to catch you then!
