Delaware, ON – The Canadian Outlaw Late Model series made their way into Delaware Speedway last night for a 50 lap feature event. The starting grid was set on handicap. Giving the pole to Rich Warden. Matt Smith would jump out to the early lead, fending off challenges from Danny Savary and Robert Baucom. 5 cautions would slow the event. On the final restart Baucom chose the inside lane as Windrow chose the outside. They dragged race down the back stretch into turn 3 where Baucom slid up the hill and would catch Windrow’s left rear. The caution would not fly as they kept it going. Windrow maintained 2nd place but had a gap to make up to Matt Smith. Closing ever so slightly every lap, Windrow waited for Smith to make a mistake and with 6 laps to go he did. Smith over drove turn 1 and Windrow took the inside line and would pass Smith and never look back, leading the final 6 laps and go on to his second straight victory in the series. Smith would finish second, Baucom third, Savary fourth and rookie Jay Shaffer would round out the top 5. The Canadian Outlaw Late Models will be at Race City Speedway next week in Calgary, Alberta, Canada!!
