Winchester, NH – Winston Modified Tour Defending Champion Danny Savary came out of the gates and proved he would be the man to beat this season! The Bond Auto Parts Spring Dash 100 was the first race of thirteen on the season. Bobby Ambroceo would set fast time in qualifying with an 11.980 while Jim Windrow would sit on the outside pole with a 12.000 second lap. The race would get out to a fast start with Bobby Ambroceo leading the first 28 laps. Windrow was able to work underneath Ambroceo on the back stretch and take over the lead coming out of turn four. Windrow would lead the next 15 laps. Savary made his way past Ambroceo for second and waited for Windrow to slip up and when he did Savary shot to the lead and never looked back. Savary (#21) would go on to lead the final 57 laps and capture his series leading 5th career and 1st victory of the season. Dave Melson (#13) would finish second while Chad Barcomb (#50) finished third. Bill Kring (#32) and Jim Windrow (#12) would finish out the Top 5 followed by Bobby Ambroceo (#99), Larry Yeager (#66), Fred Hill (#58) and Jim Black (#88) to round out the field. The Winston Modified Tour will be in action next Wednesday Night at Stafford Motor Speedway for the Spring Sizzler 100 presented by NAPA!
