Stafford Springs, CT – The Winston Modified Tour rolled into Stafford Motor Speedway fro their sixth race of the season. Jim Windrow would be looking to make it three wins in a row but other drivers would have a few things to say about that. Dave Melson would set fast time in practice followed by Windrow. The two drivers would flip flop in qualifying with Windrow turning a 19.457 second lap around the half mile to claim the pole position followed by Melson with a 19.496 second lap. Windrow would jump out to the early lead and lead the first 40 laps of the event. Melson would claim the lead with lead 5 laps while Mitch Bombard would lead two and Rich Warden and Chad Barcomb would lead 1 each. The lap leader of the night would be Ricky LaDuke leading an impressive 51 laps in the race and would hold on to claim victory after a couple of wild restarts. This would be LaDuke’s second win of the season. Chad Barcomb would cross the line 2nd followed by Windrow, Melson and Fred Hill rounding out the Top 5. The Winston Modified Tour will be back in action next Sunday at Southern National Motorsports Park. We hope to see you there!
