Savary Stout @ Martinsville!!!

03231619151643Martinsville, VA – Last week the Winston Modified Tour would make their season debut at Martinsville Speedway. The Goody’s Headache Powder 50 was the tenth race of the twelve race season. Savary the all time winningest driver on the Winston Tour has been running a part time schedule this season. Rich Warden would set fast time in qualifying. On lap one of the race Savary would power by Warden on the outside and never look back. Savary would lead 43 of the 50 laps. Windrow would have to contend with Fred Hill most of the night with a side by side battle that was one for the ages. Danny would pilot his #21 George & Ken’s Collision Modified to victory by 0.83 second over Windrow. Hill would finish 3rd, with Rich Warden and Dave Melson rounding out the top 5. Congratulations to Danny Savary on the second win of the season and 12th of his career. Next week the Winston Modified Tour returns to Lee USA Speedway for the F.W Webb 100!

Melson Masters Monadnock!!!

STR Winston Modifieds-2Winchester, NH – Race number nine of the season was at Monadnock Speedway. The Firecracker 100 had Dave Melson written all over it. Melson would set fast time in qualifying and then never look back in the race. Melson would lead 95 of the 100 laps and pick up his second victory of the season. Danny Savary would finish second, with Bobby Ambroceo finishing third. Jim Windrow and Fred Hill would round out the top 5. Congratulations to Dave on the win!

Winston Modifieds @ Monadnock Tonight!!!

STR Winston Modifieds-2Winchester, NH – Tonight the Winston Modified Tour returns to Monadnock Speedway for the second time this season. Last time out at Monadnock it was Ricky LaDuke setting fast time and Matt Smith picking up the win. Will they be able to repeat their accomplishments tonight? Jim Windrow currently holds the points lead over Fred Hill by 39 points and Dave Melson by 46. This will mark the ninth race of the season out of twelve. With the season coming to a close soon, who will be able to play a factor in the points race and who will pick up the wins? Savary Superior @ Oxford!!!

03231619151643Oxford Plains, ME – Last night the Winston Modified Tour would make their series debut at Oxford Plains Speedway. The Oxford Casino 100 was the eighth race of the twelve race season. Savary the all time winningest driver on the Winston Tour has been running a part time schedule this season. Jim Windrow would set the track record with a qualifying lap of 14.588 seconds. Starting on the point wouldn’t prove to be an advantage. On lap one of the race Savary would power by Windrow on the outside and never look back. Savary would lead 93 of the 100 laps. Windrow would have to contend with Ricky LaDuke most of the night with a side by side battle that was one for the ages. LaDuke would even give Savary a run on the outside in the closing laps. Savary was happy to see Windrow sneak a nose under LaDuke with roughly eight laps to go and battle side by side with him. Danny would pilot his #21 George & Ken’s Collision Modified to victory by 0.32 second over Windrow. LaDuke would finish 3rd, with Robert Baucom and Fred Hill rounding out the top 5. Congratulations to Danny Savary on the first win of the season and 11th of his career. Next week the Winston Modified Tour returns to Monadnock Speedway for the Firecracker 100!

Winston Modifieds @ Oxford Tonight!!!

STR Winston Modifieds-2Oxford Plains, ME – Tonight the Winston Modified Tour will make their way to Oxford Plains, Maine to the infamous Oxford Plains Speedway, Home of the Oxford 250. Tonight’s Oxford Casino 100 will be the first action the Winston Modified Tour will at the speedway. Last time out at Thunder Road Speedbowl, it was the Matt Corliss show. Corliss showed his dominance by picking up both victories his first and second of the season. Currently Jim Windrow holds a 35 point lead over Fred Hill just after the half way mark of the season. Melson and Windrow Win @ Iowa!!!

originalNewton, IA – Last night the Garden State Mini Stocks and Can-Am Late Models made their way into Iowa Speedway. First up was the Can-Am Late Model race. Dave Melson would jump out to a giant lead and lead the field to roughly 12 laps to go. The yellow flag would come out and on the restart Jim Windrow would take over the top spot. Windrow would hold off charges from Matt Smith and Fred Hill, but would lose the lead to Dave Melson. Melson would go on to take the win! Next up in the Garden State Mini Stocks, Melson would once again get out to a giant lead and this time would have a driver error that would cost him the race. After getting into a mess with a few lap cars, Jim Windrow would take the lead and never look back. Windrow would put the entire field except the 2nd and 3rd place cars a lap down on his way to the victory! Congratulations to Dave and Jim on their wins at Iowa!

Late Models & Mini Stocks @ Iowa Tonight!!!

originalNewton, IA – Tonight the Can-Am Late Model Series and the Garden State Mini Stocks will top the bill tonight at Iowa Speedway in Twin 50 lap feature events. In the Mini Stocks, Dave Melson holds an 16 point lead over Fred Hill and a 73 point lead over Rich Warden. Last week at Oswego Dave Melson was able to make his way to victory lane, Will he be able to do it again tonight? Next up in the Can-Am Late Models, Dave Melson again holds a 14 point lead over Matt Smith with Rich Warden 42 points behind in 3rd. Last time out at Oswego, we saw Rich Warden pick up the victory over Dave Melson. Who will pick up the victory tonight? Come join us and maybe it will be you!!

Matt Corliss Doubles Down @ Thunder Road!!!

STR Winston Modifieds-2Barre, VT – Last night the Winston Modified Tour thundered their way into Thunder Road Speedbowl. Matt Corliss would be the man to beat all night long. In the first 50 lap feature event Bill Kring would bring out the caution twice due to an ill handling car. That was no problem for Corliss who was able to get by pole sitter Jim Windrow on lap 3 and never look back. Corliss would go on to claim victory in the first race by leading 47 of the 50 laps. Dave Melson was 2nd and Jim Windrow rounded out the podium. After a short intermission a few cars were able to make it to the track. The 96 of Ricky LaDuke and the 50 of Chad Barcomb were able to roll in for the second feature. This proved to be no threat to Corliss. Dave Melson would get the early jump in the race by starting second and leading the firs 28 laps. But it would be the famed 3 car of Corliss making his way through the field to get to Melson. Corliss would eventually take the lead and go on to his second victory of the night by leading the last 21 of 50 laps. Dave Melson would once again finish 2nd with Ricky LaDuke finishing 3rd. Fred Hill and Chad Barcomb would round out the top 5. Next week will see the Winston Modified Tour head to Maine for the Oxford Casino 100 at Oxford Plains Speedway!

Modified Tour @ Thunder Road Tonight!!!

STR Winston Modifieds-2Barre, VT – Tonight the Winston Modified Tour will make their way to Barre Vermont to Ken Squires Thunder Road Speedbowl. Tonight’s Casella Waste Management Twin 50’s will be the first action the Winston Modified Tour will see in over two weeks. Last time out Dave Melson won the pole at Thompson Speedway. It would be Jim Windrow picking up his second victory of the season with Fred Hill finishing 2nd. Currently Jim Windrow holds a 37 point lead over Fred Hill heading into the half way mark of the season. Come out tonight and see if you have what it takes to run on the Winston Modified Tour. Next up in the Garden State Mini Stocks, Melson would once again get out to a giant lead and this time would never look back. Melson would put the entire field except the 2nd and 3rd place cars a lap down on his way to the victory! Congratulations to Rich and Dave on their wins at Oswego!
