Barre, VT – Last night the Winston Modified Tour thundered their way into Thunder Road Speedbowl. Matt Corliss would be the man to beat all night long. In the first 50 lap feature event Bill Kring would bring out the caution twice due to an ill handling car. That was no problem for Corliss who was able to get by pole sitter Jim Windrow on lap 3 and never look back. Corliss would go on to claim victory in the first race by leading 47 of the 50 laps. Dave Melson was 2nd and Jim Windrow rounded out the podium. After a short intermission a few cars were able to make it to the track. The 96 of Ricky LaDuke and the 50 of Chad Barcomb were able to roll in for the second feature. This proved to be no threat to Corliss. Dave Melson would get the early jump in the race by starting second and leading the firs 28 laps. But it would be the famed 3 car of Corliss making his way through the field to get to Melson. Corliss would eventually take the lead and go on to his second victory of the night by leading the last 21 of 50 laps. Dave Melson would once again finish 2nd with Ricky LaDuke finishing 3rd. Fred Hill and Chad Barcomb would round out the top 5. Next week will see the Winston Modified Tour head to Maine for the Oxford Casino 100 at Oxford Plains Speedway!
